First RatBlog Post
Posted on 11 November 2015
This will be my first real business blog post. I’ve been told we must write blogs for our businesses, and talk about our businesses so our businesses can grow brand awareness and brand identity, and so people get to know our wonderful business brandness and we can generate more searchability in Google.
Hey, that’s all good stuff, but that’s not why I’m writing this blog.
I’ve considered writing a business blog for a while, but never could think of what exactly to write about, or who would want to read it. It always felt like I had to generate some form of post that was meant from the get go just to enhance the brand, which to me would never enhance the brand because it would just feel forced, and that’s not YogaRat.
So I’ve never really felt a reason to write a business blog before. The reason I’m going to write one now is because I think at this point I have enough experience to be extremely honest about what it’s like to start, run, operate and grow a small business, while at the same time have a sense of humor about it. Because a lot of the stuff that happens when you’re running a small business is not for the squeamish, and I don’t want to scare anyone off.
These posts will be for anybody who wants to know the ins and outs of starting and building a business from nothing but an idea, and whoever may wish to consider any small amount of light I may be able to offer as they consider the uncertain path of entrepreneurship. I’m not a super famous CEO, or even a mildly infamous one. I don’t even like being called a CEO. YogaRat is still very much a small business, and we are still very much in the middle of the storm, dancing through it as best we can. I’m just one experience of many, but maybe that experience will inform some other courageous and foolhardy souls as they take their first steps into the great adventure called starting a business.
Okay, I got the blog going, at least. It’s a start. In the next segment, From Nowhere to Business Idea.
